Sammy Mah Relevant Accomplishments
- As the President/CEO of World Relief, he devoted significant time to staff and operations across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the U.S. Led significant global coalitions in relief efforts following the Indonesian Tsunami and Haitian Earthquake.
- In 2007, he brokered the first merger between two Christian microfinance institutions to create the largest licensed commercial bank serving Small & Medium Enterprise entrepreneurs across the country in Rwanda.
- Served 6 months on the White House taskforce on Global Poverty and Development under the President's Advisory Council on Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. Recommendations are being implemented that will shape a future foreign policy that includes greater engagement with and support of civil society groups for sustainable development.
- During his career with General Motors, he was directly responsible for leading manufacturing and engineering efforts that resulted in some of the world's best automotive engines as selected by J.D. Power and Ward's AutoWorld. He has led teams in the application of constraint management and synchronous manufacturing strategies, and the development of world class quality systems.
- He is a certified Quality Systems Lead Auditor for the International Organization for Standardization's global requirements for quality management systems (ISO 9000). He led the planning and implementation of the first ISO 9002/QS-9000 certified quality systems within General Motors' engine division. The ISO 9000 standards are a set of international quality management system standards and guidelines adopted in more than 80 countries.
